The interest in Italian property declines

Over the first half of 2009, buying activity on Italian property market has plunged by 13.6%, compared to the same period last year.
In segment of non-residential properties, the decrease has amounted to 17.9%, Lifeinitaly.com reports with reference to data released yesterday by the National Bureau of Statistics - Istat. In comparison to 2007, over 2008, the volume of property transactions has decreased by 13.4%.
Over the first half of 2009, the volume of new mortgage lending has decreased by 13.1%, year-on-year.
We would like to remind you that in Q3, the total amount of investments in Italian office property has amounted to €1.3 billion, which is 40% less than during the same period last year.
