Calabria's natural beauty praised

05 October 2007

An emerging property hotspot in Italy has been praised by an educational institution based in the region.

Piccola Universita Italiana highlighted the natural beauty of the province of Calabria, an area which has become highly popular with overseas property investors in recent months.

The establishment, based in Tropea, said that the coastline and scenery in particular were very attractive.

"Here, you find unspoilt natural landscape with lush green vegetation," it said, adding that formed a "magnificent contrast with the deep blue, crystal clear water of the sea".

Tropea itself was also highly commended, with the university describing the medieval town as a "charming" location with a population of just 7,000.

Such comments could prove to be influential to overseas property investors, as the Calabria province has recently become a focal point of interest among foreign buyers.

According to Real Point Italy, the growth of tourism and its good climate has made the area increasingly popular with investors.
