Italy 'appeals to wide group of people'
03 September 2007
The Italian property market could offer investment opportunities for a wide group of people, medpropertyshop.com has said.
According to the estate agent, Tuscany remains the most popular area among investors, although several areas were described as "up and coming".
In particular, Calabria was said to be increasing in popularity, along with Le Marche, Abruzzo and Puglia.
The firm stated that the latter destination was already populated with many British expats, although winter sports fans were pointed in the direction of the mountains in Abruzzo.
Annie Temple, managing director of medpropertyshop.com, added: "They all have different attractions."
For example, Puglia was said to have flat land ideal for playing golf, while Umbria was said to appeal to those interested in history and culture.
The comments come shortly after the Global Property Group said that the introduction of cheap flights to southern Italy had opened it up as an investment hotspot.
