Sicily has emerged as a popular choice for people looking to invest in a property abroad, according to Finance Daily.
Finance Daily has cited a recent report by propertyshowrooms.com, which regards the apartments and villas on offer in Sicily as some of the best-value real estate to be found in Italy.
This has made this region of Italy a very popular property location for foreign buyers.
Around five million people live on the island, the report states, making it one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It is often considered an important strategic location, boasting strong culture and cuisine, it adds.
Mark Slaviero, the director of Homes in Italy, comments: "In the next three years you're definitely going to see an increase in prices, so people investing in these areas should see a good return."
